Ancient Russian icon of the Theotokos of Bogolyubovo, 19th century, 14x10 in. This type of icon takes its name from Vladimir Andrew Bogolubsky, who on July 18th, 1557, has a vision of the Virgin Mary, standing with a scroll in her hand and praying Jesus Christ. The prince ordered to paint the Mother of God in that same attitude.
