The Friulian master Ivan Bidoli, who passed away in 2024, takes us on an artistic journey through the history, culture and spirituality of belief, on a journey that goes from the grandiose cathedrals of Europe, to the historic mosques of the Middle East, passing through the lively pagodas of Asia.
The Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, a place of peace and symbol of meeting and dialogue between faiths, is on the cover and in the first month of the year, followed by the Catholic co-cathedral Basilica of Saint Stephen in Budapest and the Serbian Orthodox church in Trieste.
Also represented, in the following order, are the Minor Temple mosque of Agra in India near the Taj Mahal, the Islamic Qaitbay mosque in Cairo in Egypt, the Catholic church of St. Anthony of Padua in Aquileia, the Buddhist temple in the Valley of the Temples of Bagan in Myanmar (Burma) and the Suzana Maneciu monastery in the district of Prahova, Romania.Finally, the church of Sant'Antonio in Alberobello, the blue mosque in Istanbul, the Orthodox cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Bucharest and the Venetian church of San Giorgio Maggiore, located on the island of the same name, are also depicted.Each month will lead to the discovery of a new sacred place, allowing you to deepen your faith and experience the universality of the Catholic Church.
