This is a replica of the Ardagh chalice, which was discovered at the end of the XIX century in Ireland by a young man who was harvesting potatoes in Reerasta Rath near Ardagh.
The chalice looked like a buried treasure, belonging to some rich monastery and with a two handle design and a rich, Celtic decoration with enamelled cabochon. To this day, this remains one of the most beautiful metallic artefacts dating back to the VIII century.
