Bronze Way of the Crosscrucifix 25.2X17 cm. The body of Christ is 14 cm high
This crucifix is guaranteed to have been cast using the traditional technique known as 'lost wax'. It was forged by the studio that worked on the bronze stations on the Way of the Cross in Jerusalem and did various works for the Vatican. On the side we find the signature of the artist.
On the back we find a bronze ferryboat with the words 'Custodia Terrae Sanctae' and a sticker certifying the Italian origin and that it is handmade in bronze. There is also a hole that allows the crucifix to be attached to a wall.
The Way of the Cross is the road that Christ had to travel, carrying the cross, until he reached the place where he was crucified. On the way, Christ had to endure tremendous fatigue and fell three times to the ground under the weight of the cross. This way must be remembered because Christ sacrificed himself on it for us and for those who denied him. At that time, the Way ended outside the walls of Jerusalem. Today the Way of the Cross is inside the walls.
