Romanesque crucifix of Altenstadt, Val Gardena natural wood. Corpus of Altenstadt made in Romanesque style, reproducing the well-known original crucifix of of Altenstadt (Bavaria) of the 13th century. The name of "great God of Altenstadt" comes from the monumental size of the Corpus (126 in original height). The golden crown replacing the crown of thorns indicates the royal and sacerdotal dignity of this representation. In this version, the Italian influence from Arezzo is easily observable.
