Icon in seasoned limewood with illustration of Saint Ivo of Kermartin (1235-1303 approx), lawyer became priest at half of his life. Even after becoming priest he continued his activity as a lawyer and judge taking care of the cases of poor people. Because of this, in the icon he is represented wearing the surplice and holding a cartouche with the writing in latin: " Beatus qui intellìgit super egènum et pàuperem” Blessed the man who takes care of the poor people) psalm 40(41),2. Saint Ivo is the patron of lawyers and judjes. This icon is in seasoned limewood, plastered and backed. It is treated with an anti woodworm product. This icon was made according to the techniques and schemes of traditional Byzantine Russian painting. The halo is in 23 3/4 karat gold. The colors used are earths and semi-precious stones such as lapis lazuli, azurite and cinnabar.
