This icon dates back to the XVII century and is very precious, the icon depicts the Virgin of Valdimir, also called the Eleousa or Mother of Tenderness. Originally painted in Costantinople, this iconographic subject became popular in the XII century and in 1160 arrived in Vladimir from which the icon takes its name. This icon appears in the catalogue "Icons and Artefacts from the Orthodox world" of Christie's and this bears witness to its preciousness and value (see picture). The icon comes with certificate of authenticity draft by the Russian Ministry of Culture and export documents.
