Ancient bronze icon with the characteristic shape of a Russian cross with an inclined arm at the base. 100% made in Russia and decorated with polychrome enamels.This religious icon sees in the center Jesus Crucified represented in the eastern way, that is wounded by four nails and not three and in a royal pose, not suffering. The feet rest on an axis that takes the shape of the Byzantine cross, whose arm at the base is inclined to remind us that the Cross is the Balance of Justice. Around the body of Christ you can see two reeds with a spear and a sponge on top, symbol of two episodes of the Passion.At the feet of Christ is the skull of Adam, a symbol of all humanity redeemed thanks to His sacrifice, while in the background you can see Jerusalem.On the upper part of the Crucifix there is a representation of the traditional Byzantine cosmic sense. In fact, Christ the Savior is seen at the top with a halo, while under winged cherubs awaiting the soul and body of the Son of God.This valuable Crucifixion icon is made in Moscow, Russia and dates back to the early 19th century.
