Antique Russian icon, The Twelve Feasts, gold background, 19th century, 35.5x31.5 cm. Russian icon from Moscow made on lime wood in the 19th century, representing the Twelve Great Feasts of the Orthodox liturgical calendar.
The square and rectangular scenes are placed all around a bigger representation of Easter, consisting of several scenes passing Easter message (the descent into hell, procession of the Blessed to heaven, Christ's resurrection and Jesus' appearance at the Sea of Tiberias). A precious frame with engraved and painted decorations surrounds the icon with a representation of the four Evangelists, one on each corner.
Icon delivered in a blue velvet case with a certificate of authenticity and export documents.
