The four Nativities are: the Nativity of the Theotokos, the Nativity of Jesus, the Nativity of John the Baptist and the Nativity of Saint Nicholas. The name of the four figures are written in Greek near the representations and the red background is a classic characteristic of paintings of the Near East, where this icon may come from.
