Orthodox bronze crucifix, 18th century 12.3x7.3 cm. Crucifix of casted bronze of the 18th century, from Moscow (Russia), represented with the typical Byzantine shape, with a third slanted crossbeam, symbolising the cross as a balance of justice. In the centre, we find the embossed figure of the Christ with four nails, typical of the Byzantine iconography. Underneath, Adam's skull, symbol of the whole humanity, redeemed from original sin thanks to his sacrifice.

The upper part, richly decorated, represents the Byzantine cosmos with Christ the Saviour on the top, the Holy Spirit dove and two angels waiting to receive Jesus' body and soul. On the side, two angels with six wings each.
