The Kiev-Bratskaya icon of the Mother of God is a Marial icon named after the Ukranian city of Kiev and the monastery of Bratskyj (Monastery of the Brothers). In 1662, the Tartars of Crimea, allies of the Polish invaders of the time, crossed the Dnepr at Visgorod and destroyed the church where this icon was worshiped. They thrown the icon in the river and the painting floated down to the lower part of the city, just in front of the Batskyj monastery. The monks took it home with all respect.
The icon is delivered in a blue velvet case with satin lining, accompanied by a guarantee certificate and a document with the history of the painting.
