The Sacred Heart image is strictly related to His double nature, both human and divine, and celebrates especially the human half of the Saviour. Love for men is another main theme of this painting, represented by the crown of thorns around His heart, symbol of His sacrifice, burning for love for the human race. Another reference to the Crucifixion is the representation of the stigmata on His hands.
The image is surrounded by a wood frame painted in cold colours and carved to create floral patterns, angels and Saints.
