Russian box with decorations, decoupage, Our Lady of the Book 22X16 cm
Papier machè and lacquer box hand painted in Russia with an applied image using the mixed technique of decoupage and painting. On the box the stylized reproduction of the painting "Our Lady of the Book" by Sandro Botticelli, (original oil painting sized 58x39,5 cm) is illustrated. The artwork is dated 1480-1481 approx. and conserved in the Poldi Pezzoli museum of Milan.
