Mother of God of Tychvin, painted and gilded icon 14.5x13 cm Poland. According to scholars, this icon was painted by a Greek monk, Ignace, in 1383, when, according to the legend, it would have revealed itself on the banks of the Tychvinka river, where the sanctuary was built right after.
Icon produced in Poland and hand painted with tempera on wood, covered by a silver and copper alloy, called riza, beaten by hand, to applied to prevent the painting to blacken.
