Cosmas is the patron saint of doctors, medical students and obstetricians; he his worshipped in case of epidemics and diseases that hit people and animals.
Multi-patinated finish of the statue: the finished sculpture is coated with a walnut colour patina, then some details are added in different tones.
This statue in maple wood is hand made by the Valgardena artisans, following the local artistic tradition.
